Tire Services in [City], NV

Tire Services

The certified technicians at our repair shop in [City], NV are experts in providing high-quality tire services, including wheel alignment, tire installation, tire balancing, tire rotation and tire inspection.

Wheel Alignment

Our wheel alignment service will give you the best driving experience. It helps your vehicle drive smoother, your tires last longer, and ultimately keeps your wheels pointed in the right direction. Just like your shoes can wear, so do your tires, and if your wheels are not properly aligned, they can wear unevenly.

Wheel alignment service is very important, because it can expand the life of your tires. Even the smallest alignment issue can result in an uneven tire wear. Once your wheels are properly aligned, its smooth cruising ahead, saving you tire wear, fuel, and ultimately…money.

Tire Installation

It’s very important to perform regular tire maintenance, not just for the safety of your family, but also to ensure a long lifespan for your vehicle. You are advised to consult with your owner’s manual in terms of finding the proper tire size for the year, make and model of your vehicle. When you purchase new tires, they have to be in sets of 4, or at least in matching groups of 2 on each axle. This extends the life of your new tires and keeps your tire wear even. You can shop for new tires on our site by size, brand, or vehicle make, model, and year. Browse our extensive stock of new tires, and compare tire specifications and prices before you buy, to ensure you are getting the best new tires for your needs and budget.

Tire Balancing

Tire Balancing is important to increase the basic safety of your vehicle and extend the life of your tires. The certified technicians at our auto repair shop are here to help with all of your tire balancing and tire service needs.

Tire balancing happens each time you replace your vehicle’s tires. Since tires wear depending on road problems and driving practices, uneven wear will begin to be visible after the initial 1,500 miles of use. You must check your tires for balance every 3,000 miles. Our certified technicians can assist in determining if your tires need to be balanced and rotated based on mileage and wear.

Tire Rotation

Your vehicle’s weight is not distributed evenly to all four corners. If you leave all 4 tires just the way they are, some tires would eventually wear out faster than others. We know that tire rotation is an essential part of making your tires last longer. The tire rotation process consists of moving your tires from front to back, moving them from one side of your vehicle to the other or a combination of both, depending on what was done before and your vehicle.

Uneven tire wear could bring about unsatisfactory gas efficiency, poor performance, reduce the life of the new tire and can easily cause safety problems. Regular tire rotation helps eliminate premature tire wear and could save you a lot of money on new tires. Visit our auto repair shop in [City], NV and let our trained mechanics rotate your tires.

Tire Inspection

Tires need to be checked on regular basis for damage, such as stones, nails or other sharp objects that may have penetrated the tire. They also need to be checked for bulges, tears or cuts that might be the result of contact with road hazards. If you have doubts about the condition of your tires, it’s best to have them inspected by our certified mechanics in [City], NV.

Steering and Suspension in [City], NV

Steering & Suspension

Why is Steering and Suspension Important? – Learn About the Role They Play in Your Vehicle’s Safety

Suspension and steering systems are two different systems that work together to keep your automobile in control. The suspension system maintains your vehicle’s weight, gives a smooth ride, and ensures that you have steady road control, drivability, and handling.

Your car’s directional control is provided by the steering system. In a sense, your steering system directs the suspension system’s orientation, and the automobile just follows along as it rides on top of it.

Suspension and steering systems are subjected to wear and tear under normal driving circumstances. Struts, shocks, control arm bushings, ball joints, coil springs, and steering linkage are just some of the steering and suspension components that wear out and deteriorate with time. Instability in road handling, excessive tire wear, and a loss of ride comfort, steering control, and drivability result from this wear.

Having your steering and suspension systems inspected by an Automotion Service and Repair certified technician will detect issues before they turn into a severe problem that leaves you stranded on the side of the road.

As you reach important milestones, your steering and suspension system should be inspected on a regular basis. Your steering and suspension systems, like all other components on your automobile, require routine maintenance.

Have your steering and suspension systems inspected by a professional by booking an appointment with Automotion Service and Repair if your car exhibits any of the following symptoms:

  • Unusual vibration at any speed limit
  • Steering angle is altered
  • Crooked tire wear
  • Car drifts strangely when you turn the wheel
  • Strange noise in your front tire when going over bumps and portholes.
  • Unusual noise when turning the wheel.
  • Peculiar leakage of fluid at the front end of your vehicle

A comprehensive suspension system examination is required if there is excessive bouncing or swaying over bumps, as well as sporadic loss of control when driving and braking. The steering system should be evaluated and corrected if it is shaky, unstable, off-center, or stiff.

Uneven tire wear can indicate a suspension or steering problem, however it might simply indicate alignment concerns. Have you lately encountered a pothole? Steering and suspension components might be damaged by potholes.

Suspension components that are worn diminish the vehicle’s stability and the driver’s control. Suspension system components unite to form a single functional unit, therefore untreated suspension faults can lead to increased wear on other suspension components, requiring repairs that are more expensive.

Your vehicle’s ability to operate and your safety depend on the steering and suspension system. As a result, it must be in top operating order to ensure the longevity of your vehicle.

For more information, give us a Call and speak with one of our service advisors, or book an appointment at Automotion today in [City], NV.

We offer as wide range of services when it comes to steering and suspension which include the following:

  1. Replacement of the Inner and outer Tie rod Steering that is difficult, inconsistent, or unexpected may indicate that your tie rods—inner, outer, or both—need to be changed. Excessive and uneven tyre wear is one sign that your tie rods are loose. Another indicator is vibrations and clunking noises coming from the front of your car. Your inner and outer tie rods should be examined and perhaps replaced by a member of our service team if your steering pulls or refuses to return to center.
  2. Replacement of Shock absorbers When one shock absorber has to be changed, the other shock absorber on the same axle (front or rear) must also be replaced to guarantee that both shocks are in good operating order. Because a new shock hasn’t had any internal wear, combining it with an older unit would likely result in unequal damping characteristics throughout the axle, causing the new shock to overcompensate, placing it at danger of damage and premature wear. For appropriate replacement of shock absorbers contact Automotion Service and Repair.
  3. Replacement of Ball Joints A damaged ball joint might be the source of a strange clunking noise or steering drift. And if they’re worn out, they’ll have a significant impact on your steering and suspension. If a ball joint breaks altogether, the wheel may fall off the automobile in a spectacular manner. This is a frightening concept. Book an appointment with Automotion if you need your ball joints replaced.
  4. Intensive inspection of the Suspension system The springs, shocks, and struts of your car’s suspension keep your tires on the road. When you’re making a sudden turn, driving down a steep slope, driving on bumpy roads, or stopping to escape an accident, this is a wonderful thing. When your suspension is worn, though, it can cause additional wear on other elements of your car, such as your tyres. Allow us to carefully inspect your suspension system and point out any issue and recommend service routine for your vehicle.

The steering and suspension system  aids drivers in maintaining complete control of their automobiles. The suspension system transforms the forward energy generated by road bumps into vertical energy that moves up into the vehicle frame. Components of the suspension system, like coil spring and shock absorbers, assist to reduce the impact of this road force. While particular steering and suspension parts may differ, stress exerted under typical driving circumstances will cause all components to degrade with time. Schedule an appointment with Automotion Service and Repair in [City], NV and let us help you keep your steering and suspension system in a perfect condition.

Brake Service in [City], NV

Brake Service

Braking systems play an integral role in the safety of your vehicle, yet they are often overlooked. Your car doesn’t stop without brakes, they slow it down, bringing your vehicle to a halt by blocking your wheels from turning.

Your car’s brakes transfer your foot pressure to some fluid every time you press your brake pedal. Therefore, when the brakes meet friction, force is transferred to the tires, and the tires then transmit that force to the road when they reencounter friction. As the ankle bone is connected to the foot bone, the brake system operates successfully when each brake part is connected.

The braking system is composed of several components. Among these are the master cylinder, brake calipers, brake fluid, brake cylinders, servo, discs, drums, pads, shoes, and brake fluid.

What causes the shake in your car when you brake?

Having a shaking car suggests that you may have severe brake problems. Even though an engine problem or problem with another part should be taken seriously, it is also crucial that you ensure that your brakes are working correctly.

Here are some of the reasons why your car may shake from time to time:

  1. Dry guide pins Dry guide pins may cause your steering wheel to shake when you try to stop your car. The pins are located in the brake calipers, and they guide the brake pad against the rotor in your vehicle. The pins must be clean and lubricated for the brake system to operate properly. Nevertheless, they can force the brake pads to contact the rotor at an incorrect angle when they are dry.
  2. Brake rotor and disc issues Wearing down brake rotors causes their surfaces to become uneven over time. Thus, brake pads’ ability to grab deteriorates, which causes pedals and steering wheels to shake.
  3. Infrequent driving You can determine the life of your brakes by the way you drive and how well your brake pads perform. The brake pads rust more rapidly in winter, particularly if the car is not driven often. The brakes erode as a result. This results in uneven rotors on your car, and you may hear strange noises when braking.
  4. Worn brake pads Your car’s brake pads might be worn out, which is why it shakes. When you press down the pedal of your vehicle and hear some grinding sound, it is because of brake pads. The main reason for breaking brake pads is overheating, as when it overheats; the resin may not distribute evenly; this issue can cause your brakes to shake or vibrate.
  5. Stocking of debris Debris that gets stuck in your brakes can also cause your car to shake. This results in friction between your brake pads or rotor. A clogged brake pad affects the pads’ ability to grip, which causes your car to shake as the brakes cannot function properly.

When should your car’s brake pads be changed?

In order to keep your vehicle’s brake system in good condition, you must keep your brake pads in good condition. A simple brake inspection can help determine what brake repair service you may need.

Here are some symptoms that indicate when it’s time to replace your brake pads:

  1. Grinding noise when brakingIf your car produces a grinding sound when you press the brake pedal, your brake pads need to be replaced. A number of brake pads nowadays come with built-in metal wear indicators that can make a loud noise when they begin to wear out, thereby alerting you to the need to change them.
  2. Taking longer to stop Your car brakes need to be checked out if you’re experiencing less than ideal stoppage times while applying brakes. It may be because of your low brake fluid.
  3. Brake pad indicator light comes on Most modern vehicles come with a brake warning light displayed on the dashboard. You need to have a check-up of your vehicle to determine the cause of the brake warning light if you have seen the warning light and the parking brake is not engaged.
  4. Brake pads appear to be thin By visually inspecting your brake pads, you can determine whether or not they are in good shape. This can be done by looking between the spokes of your wheel and finding your brake pad. If the brake pads appear thin, you’ll need to replace them as soon as possible.

In order to determine which of the above-mentioned shaking symptoms is accurate, it is necessary to have qualified technicians examine your car closely in order to find out what is causing your vehicle to shake while on the highway.

You can visit Automotion, where we will determine whether your vehicle requires rotor replacement or brake pad replacement so that you can resume your journey with a smooth, stable, and comfortable ride.

Car Battery Service in [City], NV

If it’s been a while since you’ve thought about your car battery, it may be time to call Automotion to have your battery checked or start shopping for a replacement.

Car Battery Service

Routine Battery Maintenance

Like everything else on your vehicle, your battery requires some routine maintenance to keep you from being stranded in the cold with a dead car. Once your battery is of a certain age, it needs to be tested annually for its ability to hold voltage while in use. Contact Automotion when it’s time to book your annual battery test in [City].

There are a few critical pieces of information to keep in mind regarding your battery’s life.

  • Stay mindful of your battery’s age so you can be prepared with a replacement battery when its time comes to an end. If you are unsure of your battery’s age, you can find it on a sticker located on the top or side of the battery. The date will be in either a numeric or alphanumeric code. If the date is October 2022, the numeric code would be 10/22. With “A” representing January, “2” for February, and so forth, and by eliminating the letter “I,” the alphanumeric code would be K-2.
  • Batteries can last three to five years, depending on what climate you live in. Colder climates are ideal environments, getting almost 30% more life out of a battery than in hotter climates, like the climate in [City]. For this reason, those in hotter climates will need to begin annual testing at the two-year mark, while those in cold climates should start testing at the four-year mark.

By understanding these essential elements of a battery’s lifespan, you can better gauge when to start shopping for a new battery. That, combined with your annual testing, will have you ready for when that time does come.

Get the Right Size

There are significant variances between different batteries. Variances like size, terminal locations, and performance power. Choosing the right one can be difficult. Consult your owner’s manual for specifications on the size and terminal locations in your vehicle. Then consult the battery experts at Automotion to help you choose a battery that will achieve your desired results.

Check the Warranty

A battery warranty typically has two figures assigned to it that represent two separate parts of the warranty.

  • Free-replacement period. This appears as the first of two two-digit numbers. It represents the number of months you are entitled to a free-replacement battery should yours die.
  • Prorated period. This is the second of the two-digit numbers that represent the number of months during which you are entitled to partial reimbursement. The reimbursement amounts tend to drop off pretty significantly once the prorated period begins.

Good service. Chris was very helpful. Shuttle service was greatly appreciated as I only have one vehicle. As far as price goes, honesty and integrity and quality are more important to me than the cost. If my vehicle breaks down again I will give them a call. Keep up the good work. Dave Cronk.

Vicky C Mar 3, 2026

These guys are great. I came in right at opening on a busy Monday and explained my ABS light was on just 3 weeks after getting it fixed and HAD to drive to Vegas the next day. They squeezed me in, explained that the previous shop didn’t fix my issue correctly, fixed it for me, and I was out of there by 2. They had doors tall enough for my campervan so if you’re looking for a great shop in Reno this is it

Ricki Hoffman Mar 3, 2026

Easy to schedule. Used the night drop—super easy w follow up at scheduled drop time. Very good conversation on need to have vs nice to have (aka we can get it next time). During the Christmas season this gave me great confidence I was still keeping my car dependable until my next service inspection. Great team at Automotion. Been w them 6 years w 4 cars across three makes. I will never go back to a dealership!

Paul Dieringer Nov 11, 2025

I've trusted this shop since I moved to Reno 20 years ago. They were highly recommended then and I can say the same today. The Service Advisors are honest with me on the condition of my vehicle, what needs attention now and what can be addressed at a later time. The mechanics/technicians have massive skills on top-end vehicles, so my SUV was a piece of cake. I trust the work is done right the first time and I have never been disappointed. Why go anywhere else?

Karen Alfsen Nov 11, 2025

John was very helpful taking me home after I dropped off my car for service. I now have 2 working headlights!

Kathy Harada Oct 10, 2025

I had great service by both Shauna and the other gentleman. I was looking to buy a used car with a lot of mileage and year. I can’t remember the gentleman’s name but he really advocated for me during the discussion with the seller and advised me honestly in a really helpful manner. If you are young or of modest means it’s worth the checkup to avoid major issues, they saved me at least 1.5k and squeezed me in the same day

Sana Rahmani Sep 9, 2025

I came in for a wheel alignment. There was a miscommunication over the phone around price. Jason, the manager, honored the much lower price I was quoted over the phone. It’s that’s kind of gesture that will bring me back to this shop. All around they were communicative, honest, transparent, and friendly. 5 stars.

Maxim Dobrushin Sep 9, 2025

It was a nice looking shop with many very nice antique cars in the lot. Jason was pleasant, professional and responsive on the phone. However, I had made an appointment to have a key smith make a key for my car, and drove an hour each way to get to the shop to get there. And the key smith didn’t show up. So I was disappointed at driving nearly 110 miles and wasting my time for this. On the other hand, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and have something done at the shop that they self-performed because they were as decent as they could be about the situation. They had a nice coffee machine for customers that I appreciated, too, and a good place to hang out and work while you wait if you need that. Nice people.

Automotion is the best repair shop in Reno, they always do the job right the first time.

clifford candevan Apr 4, 2023

I took my car in to have the suspension checked because I was staying to hear some squeaking when I drove over bumps and rough road. After they test drove it, they said that the springs and struts tested normally, so they lubricated them and said that all should be good in a couple of days once the lube worked into the system. And they're were right! Their integrity saved me hundreds of dollars when they could have opted to replace parts that were still good. That's how a company builds trust with us customers.

Wally Murray (luvinthislife) Dec 12, 2024

Absolutely lovely establishment, so many great things about this place, between the excellent service, the great bathrooms and the wonderful dogs to greet you and pet, I absolutely recommend coming here for any car needs, especially who have a Mercedes sprinter. The staff is super kind of knowledgeable and are willing to work with you if you have special needs for your vehicle like we have with ours. They will even put your lug nuts on in a certain order if you ask them to. Very detail oriented, very professional absolutely recommend coming here for everything you need!!

Susan Mahoney Oct 10, 2024

They fixed the problems I was having with my electrical, and even fixed a loose connection that would have been a problem that I didn’t even know about! Great service, and a great attitude with the front desk, who were kind enough to work with me while my card was having issues being cleared with Visa till it all worked out in the end!
